2009 Pictorial Year In Review
Seasons’ Greetings!

It’s been another busy year for us here in our little NC foothills country estate.

Lynae spent mega-hours per day, this past year, in per personal home office working for The Hartford Insurance Company; while I built websites and took care of the day-to-day chores around the home.

Together, Lynae & I have been working around the house and yard making numerous changes and improvements. (Be sure to check out our online pictorial review of 2009) Although we own a vacation time share, we haven't used it in the past 3 years. With a private back yard complete with in-ground pool and patio with awning, we find it advantageous to just stay-cation at our own little slice of heaven.

In May, Lynae & I visited my son Wes and his lovely wife Meghan ~ they live in Durham, NC. While there, we went to a Durham Bulls baseball game and attended their church the following morning, where Wes & Meghan participated in a special drama. The stork is bringing a bundle of joy to them this coming April. We don't know yet if we should be buying pink or blue booties.

Then in October, we went to Cleveland, Ohio to attend my daughters’ wedding. Chrislyn was beautiful in her white wedding gown with long train. Do I sound like a proud dad? I'm very impressed with her husband "Phil" and look forward to getting to know him better. He is a school teacher and Chrislyn works for the Dept. of Social Services, having earned her Masters degree. The couple will continue to live in the Cleveland area.

2009 was a difficult year for little lacy, our miniature white schnauzer. Twice, we had to take her to Hickory for cancer surgery. She recently turned eleven and we would love to have her around several more years. As for now, she seems to be doing fine.

Sometime during the middle of January, I began to have a sensation in my lower right leg: a burning sensation; also the feeling of extreme irritation when anything touches the lower part of my leg. I was diagnosed with having varicose veins. So, for almost a year I have been wearing shorts ~ even in the middle of winter. The only time I can wear long pants is by first putting on a pair of compression socks. But, within a short amount of time, they begin to bother me big time as well. So, time to bite the bullet. I have an appointment this January in Lenoir to see if I might be a candadite for the 'Vein Catheter Closure' proceedure. Hopefully, relief is coming soon.

The year also saw Lynae being presented with the prestigious “Winners Circle” award from her company. We spent the night in Charlotte staying at the upscale Ballantyne Resort. Needless to say, I am very proud of Lynae and I don't know anyone who works harder than she or has a stronger work ethic. Later that year in October, she flew to Durango, Colorado to visit with her son, Tyler. After staying at some of the nicest resorts, the two drove back to NC, sightseeing along the way. Tyler had just completed hiking the Colorado Trail, a 500 mile trek between Denver & Durango.

As the holidays approach, we are especially mindful of the real gift of Christmas, the birth of Jesus and the promise of eternal life with Him. We appreciate all that God has given us ~ including you, our family & friends.

May God Bless You. I trust you'll have a very Merry Christmas.

Bob & Lynae
