Just think how those funds could have been used: sizable pay increases for our public school teachers; better care for our military veterans; cancer research – the list of possibilities is endless.

Price vs Cost
President Trump wants 5.7 billion dollars to fund the building of a security barrier along our southern border. The 5.7 billion would be the “Price Tag” for building the wall, but who can tell us what the real “Cost” would be for Not building the wall? Over the next couple of decades, the “Cost” would most likely be in the Trillions!

Drug Induced Death
In 2017 alone, CPB stopped over 62,000 pounds of cocaine from being distributed on American streets. Can anyone put a price tag on just one life? It is estimated that among the more than 72,000 drug overdose deaths in 2017*, the sharpest increase occurred among deaths related to fentanyl. Screening
Why should people be screened at the border? I honestly can’t believe anyone would ask that question. Along with the real possibility that a percentage of people wanting to enter our country have a criminal to violent history (MS13) gang members, the probability that infectious diseases could easily be carried into our country by those who have not been properly inoculate for the childhood diseases that many of our school districts require. We screen produce and livestock coming into our country, but not migrants? Not Smart.

Helping People
I’m not against helping people; I do that all month long. While it is honorable to want to help people in need, let’s not forget all those people with real needs that live right here in our community, probably some within a quarter mile from where you live. Don’t believe it, just look around: ask the pastor of any church, the folks who run a soup kitchen or those who volunteer their time to run a clothing ministry. This weekend (1-26-2019) the Burke County community is coming together to provide 30,000 meals to families in need. If you’re not routinely reaching into your pocket to help those in need right in your own back yard, please don’t lecture those who have the best interest of our country at heart.

Excuses
There are many folks who will give you their reason(s) why a barrier/wall will not work. We all know there are no 10’s in life but the idea of not doing anything is just absurd. Anyone who has worked in “Home Security” or was a “Military” background will tell you: to secure an area, you need the following; “Infrastructure,” “Boots on the Ground” and “Technology.” A barrier is always the first line of defense followed by the ability to mobilize troops to secure any breach and finally, technology to help in the detection of those who would attempt a breach.

Making A Decision
Good decisions are made when people use both their “Heart” and their “Head.” There are those within our country who rely on only on their “heart” to make decisions and those who only use a thought process. For those who use only their heart, they will eventually “blow up” and for those who use only their “head,” they will eventually “dry up.” But, when a person starts to use both their “heart” and their “head,” to make thoughtful, compassionate decisions, they will grow up.
IT’S Time For A Whole Lot Of People In This Country To “GROW UP.”

News Media
There was a well know broadcaster named Paul Harvey (now deceased) who ended each show with “And Now You Know The Rest Of The Story.” Unfortunately, most people don’t get the whole story because they limit their information to one of several highly-scripted main stream media news sources: ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN & MSNBC. It’s amazing to me how they ALL use the exact same phraseology when reporting a story on President Trump and/or the “Conservative Right” and how bias their report is. If your news source is one of the stations listed here, I encourage you to take my challenge: for one week, listen to your regular news broadcast and then listen to just 30 minutes of Fox & Friends – just set your DVR to record. After 5 days of comparing the two news sources, see if you don’t agree with the millions of us who previously depended solely on those “other guys.”
There really is “more to the story.”

The Sign In The Window
During the 2016 presidential debates, a sign appeared in the front window of our local Democratic Party’s campaign office: “Make America Kind Again.” Interesting that those who pretend to support “kindness” display so much open hatred toward our President, Republicans and the Conservative Right.

We finally have a president who is working tirelessly in trying to “Make America Great Again” and I see nothing wrong with that! On the other side of the isle, however, we have the Democratic Party who refuses to do anything for this country except try to defame & belittle the one man who is actually working on behalf of the American people; working to make your life & my mine a whole lot better. The Democrats haven’t done anything constructive in a very, verry long time. Disagree with that? Then go ahead and start your own list of accomplishments the Democratic Party has given to America over, let’s say, the last 30 years: but don’t be surprised when you come up with nothing! “Ready,” “Set” “GO! “ . . . . . That’s what I thought - you’ve got nothing!

I Have Never Seen Anyone More Useless Than The Current Leaders Of The Democratic Party:
Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and the clueless new girl on the block, Cortez. They certainly did choose the right mascot for themselves: The Jackass.

"Speak Out" - Conservatives
The radical “Left” “Liberals” have an agenda that will destroy our country: The gradual elimination of Law & Order from our streets, the systematic insertion of Socialism, the total removal of God from our country and the allowable process of uncontrolled chaos at our southern border.

The Time Has Come For The “Silent Left Conservatives” To Stay Silent No Longer. Remember, Bad things happen when Good People sit around and Do (or say) Nothing!
